The meeting will take place at the Hollywood Schoolhouse in Woodinville, WA. There will be hosted sodas and water, and a 'no host' cash bar as well as an assortment of appetizers.

Member Services Data Manager | Accepting Applications

As a member based association, WSHJA’s success is reliant on maintaining an accurate and robust record of its membership, so that it may deliver to its members all of the benefits associated with membership.

WSHJA is currently accepting applications for the position of Member Services Data Manager. This is a paid position under annual contract.  If interested in applying please send email to MemberServices@wshja.org.

WSHJA Member Services Data Management | Job Description

The WSHJA Member Services Data Management position is responsible for capturing, tracking and maintaining all membership and horse recording data, providing it in required format to support WSHJA’s delivery of membership benefits.

Essential Duties

1) Collect and process membership and horse recording applications submitted to WSHJA throughout the membership year.

2) Maintain Membership information (address updates, change between awards programs, answer questions regarding membership status)

3) Maintain member data in a manner that enables membership data to be provided as necessary in support of WSHJA’s member benefits including but not limited to:

  • Flying Changes Subscriptions
  • Prize List Mailings
  • Email and Postal Mail Communications
  • Awards Program Points Accrual

4) List creation and tracking (current members, past members, non-members, am/jr/pro/non-showing, training stables across WA, OR, BC)

5) Membership related communications including:

  • Email confirmations of membership and horse recordings
  • Generation and distribution of Membership Card
  • Posting of Membership Roster and Recorded Horse Roster
  • All correspondence directly pertaining to membership status or horse recordings

6) Beyond members, maintain data on:

  • Training Stables
  • Professionals (all regardless of membership status)
  • Extended Community (sponsors, fans, parents…)

7) Provide Membership Stat reports to Board on a regular basis.

WSHJA Points Chair | Applicants Wanted

After three years as WSHJA’s Points Chair, Karen Freywald is resigning the position. WSHJA is indebted to Karen for bringing the WSHJA Awards Program to a new level through her meticulous  and ever customer friendly approach to overseeing the WSHJA points system.

WSHJA is now seeking individuals who are interested in taking on the position of WSHJA Points Chair. The position is paid under an annual contract. Details provided to interested parties. If interested in applying, please send email to points@wshja.org.

Summary Description

The Points Chair is responsible for recording ALL of the points for the WSHJA yearend awards program.

Essential Duties

Collect and process results from horse shows that members attend throughout the US and Canada.

Upload processed data to the WSHJA website on a regular basis.

Handle all points related correspondence from WSHJA members.

Provide official yearend files for the WSHJA awards banquet program and for the ribbon/award order, including preparing the powerpoint presentation

Qualifications:

Comprehensive understanding of horse show ratings, sections and specs, and the WSHJA By Laws as well as a thorough knowledge of the points system of the sports governing bodies the USHJA and USEF.

Computer skills including Excel

Meticulous and conscientious – responsible for the accurate reporting of ALL points as well as working with Member Services to keep an accurate log of who has a current membership/type of membership, etc.

Have an aptitude for research – applicant must be willing to and comfortable doing web research – such as; tracking down horseshow websites for results, class descriptions and specs., keeping up with changes in rules from the USHJA as well as WSHJA and have a thorough working knowledge of sites pertaining to the industry (USHJA, USEF, WSHJA, Horseshowtime., etc.)

Communications Skills – must be able to communicate with many different Show Secretaries in regard to points tracking as well as help the General Membership with all questions pertaining to points – rules, qualifications, etc. Must report to the Board in regard to Membership issues and concerns regarding points.
