Taylor, Gilmore Receive WSHJA Educational Scholarship

educational scholarship picKrista Taylor and Kimberly Gilmore each received a $750 Educational Scholarship—an opportunity presented to them in recognition of their many volunteer hours. The Educational Scholarship can be applied towards participating in riding clinics, attending classes on matters of horse welfare or other educational opportunities directed at improving one’s equitation or horsemanship skills.

To be eligible for the scholarship, members must complete a minimum of 5 volunteer hours at a WSHJA activity.  At the annual members meeting, two names, one child/junior and one adult, will be drawn to receive the scholarship.

  6. You want to participate in the NEW Educational Scholarship
  7. You are at the show already and you could do something to fill the time between rounds
  8. You know that WSHJA is almost nothing without its volunteers
  9. You like the direction WSHJA has been heading and you want to keep it going that way
  10. You want to give back to the sport that you enjoy so very much

Nominations Due November 1st For 2012 Board Positions

WSHJA is a non-profit, member-run association reliant on the avid participation of the hunter jumper community to accomplish its mission. Board members are the representatives of that community leading us towards the future we all wish to see in the sport we all are so involved in today. Scholarship Applicants Must Complete 10 Volunteer Hours

In order to apply for a WSHJA Scholarship you must complete 10 volunteer hours towards a WSHJA activity. There is no shortage of activities that could use you help from awards presentation to fundraising activities at the shows to helping with WSHJA member communications or helping out at the Annual Awards Banquet.
