The Washington State Hunter Jumper Association has recently announced its 2011 horse show lineup:

  • Evergreen Classic Benefit*:  August 10-14, 2011
  • Northwest Autumn Classic:  September 14-18, 2011
  • October Classic:  October 13-16, 2011

Your WSHJA membership and participation in these shows enables WSHJA to continue making investments that provide you with top quality showing experiences in Washington State.

WSHJA Annual Meeting December 1, 2010

Please join the WSHJA Board at our 58th Annual Members Meeting which will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at the Sheraton Bellevue, 100 112th Avenue NE, Bellevue, WA 98004 (map at right).  Hors d’oeuvres will be offered at 6:30pm; the meeting will begin promptly at 7:00pm.

Thanks to you, WSHJA increased its membership in 2010 year-over-year for the first time in five years, and we have raised standards at our shows, training events and classes.  The Annual Meeting is your opportunity to help shape the further improvements to come.

Words from the Wise: The 2010 Northwest Autumn Classic "Ask the Judges" Clinic

It is a unique skill to be able to have twenty five restless teenagers hanging on your every word, but that is just what United States Hunter Jumper Association President Bill Moroney and Vice President Chrystine Tauber achieved during the "Ask the Judges" clinic at the 2010 Northwest Autumn Classic Horse Show.

The clinic was held in conjunction with the draw for the order of go for Saturday night's ASPCA Maclay Regional Final. The "Ask the Judges" clinic consisted of a USHJA Zone question and answer session for which Mr. Moroney and Ms. Tauber, who were judging the 2010 NWAC horse show, were joined by Dianne Popp, USHJA Director of Zones, Data, and Competitions, and a general question and answer session with the judges. Last chance to check on your points

November 30th is the last day to submit results and/or corrections to your point’s standings.

Please, check the list of official show results that have been submitted to the WSHJA, listed within the Points section of the WSHJA website. Please be aware that not all horse shows, especially those held out-of-state, send WSHJA results. As such it is the responsibility of the exhibitor to request the horse show secretary send in official results, the same file sent to the USEF, along with a copy of the Prize list to points@wshja.org within 45 days after the show.

Do one more check of your points status at WSHJA.org website and notify points@wshja.org of any additions or changes by November 30th.

Time to pass the Perpetual Trophy on

It is the time of year that we collect the perpetual trophies back from you and get them updated with their 2010 winners. We truly appreciate your prompt response on turning in trophies, and please return them no later than the November 30th. Both Olson's Tack in Bellevue and the Gift Horse Saddlery in Woodinville have again graciously offered to be our designated collection sites for the trophies. Please take your trophy with you on your next trip and drop it off.
