2014_wshja_banquet_invitationRegistration is now open for the Washington State Hunter Jumper Association 2014 Annual Awards Banquet. 

Please join us on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, WA for an evening of celebration, laughter and friendship. Doors open at 4:30 pm, and the first state awards presentation will start promptly at 5:00 pm.

Registration closes Monday, January 5th, 2015. We cannot accept payment or registration at the door, so make sure to register early.

Don’t miss this year’s celebration of the accomplishments of our exciting Washington State riders and horses. We are looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Please Submit Photos for the 2014 Annual Awards Banquet Slideshow

We are now accepting photo submissions for the year end slideshow! The theme for this year's banquet is Up & Down and we would love for the slideshow to reflect this motif. Send in pictures of both your successes, blunders from this year's show season as well as fun and silly barn shots.

Please note: in response to feedback from last year's post-banquet survey, we are only accepting two photos per rider.

Please make the photo files as large as you can make them, and keep in mind that phone photos may be discarded due to lack of quality. Slideshow submissions can be sent directly to lynn@logogarden.net with the subject line WSHJA Banquet Photos.

The deadline for photo submission is Friday December 19th. Please contact Lynn Trewin with any questions. We look forward to celebrating your up's and down's at this year's banquet, and can't wait to see you January 10th!

WSHJA Annual Membership Meeting Dec. 3rd

Please join us for the WSHJA Annual Membership Meeting on December 3rd, 2014, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  This year’s meeting will be held in the Grand Ballroom at the Hollywood Schoolhouse in Woodinville, WA:

2014 Silent Auction Procurement: Please Support Our Junior Riders

To kick off the 2014 show season, the Washington State Hunter Jumper Association will be hosting the annual silent auction during our Spring National Show Series in Monroe, WA, held April 2nd through 20th.

As in past years, all proceeds from the silent auction will go to the 2014 WSHJA Junior/Amateur Scholarship Fund. The importance of this fund to our statewide riders is well served, so we encourage you to make your donations, either through sponsorships or a physical item.

In an effort to ensure the responsibility for fund raising is shared equally, we are asking that each barn be responsible for at least 2 items. Big or small, the possibilities are endless.

And if you feel you don't have the time simply call Olson's Tack, 425-454-9453, and they will be happy to get the job done for you.

Submissions due November 1st . As a member of WSHJA, you are invited and encouraged to submit for member vote any Bylaw updates or rule changes you think would support and/or enhance WSHJA's charter for the benefit of the membership at large.

Review the WSHJA Bylaws as they stand today at wshja.org.

WSHJA Tack Consignment Sale continues into 2013!

Here is your chance to convert those quality tack items into cash while benefiting WSHJA! Get the whole barn involved! Gather up all your items as a group, complete the inventory & pricing forms, and contact WSHJATackSale@gmail.com to arrange a pickup time. cash

The Consignment Sale accepts all types of tack: bridles, bits, girths, martingales, blankets, halters, boots (both human and equine), hats, gloves, leather goods, equipment, etc. Please no riding clothes!

Also we will likely accept saddles this year at the Evergreen Classic. 

The WSHJA Tack Sale booth will be staffed on the weekends at all the WSHJA shows in 2013 including the Spring Nationals, Evergreen Classic, NW Autumn Classic and the October Classic. You can drop off items to be sold and browse the items available.

A consignment fee is paid to WSHJA based on how much you consign to be sold: if you consign over $500 in value, you pay 25% to WSHJA, if you consign $500 or less, you pay 35% to WSHJA. You will receive a check for your items once all of them are sold or by 11/30/13, whichever is first.

WSHJA Benefit Tack Consignment Sale Is Back For 2013!

Whether you have owned a horse for 5 weeks or 5 years, you probably have several items of tack that you bought and just haven’t used. This is your opportunity to find those items a new home, free up some cash and buy tack you can use! Come and shop for great bargains as we build up the inventory. We are at the shows, so bring your horse over and try it on before you buy!

Bring your bridles, bits, girths, martingales, blankets, halters, leather goods, equipment, etc. to the show and drop them off (If you have a single item over 50 lbs, please check first via email.) We are excluding saddles and clothes for the sale this year. When you come to the show, be sure to stop by and check out the inventory. The WSHJA Tack Sale is “credit card only” for purchases.

The WSHJA Tack Sale booth will be staffed at all the WSHJA shows and you can drop off items to be sold and browse the items available. Time To Get Your Silent Auction Donations In

It’s that time of year again! The rain is falling, the show season is over and points have been accumulated. That can mean only one thing; the WSHJA Annual Awards Banquet is right around the corner. And our request for silent auction donations goes out to you.

The Silent Auction is one of the principal fund raising events for the year. 100% of the proceeds go to the WSHJA Scholarship Fund--supporting our member riders and their horses represent Washington at out-of-state regional and national finals. It also supports educational scholarship opportunities to our volunteer community.

Please show your support by donating auction items. We are counting on each barn donating 3 auction items--perennial favorites are:

  • Gift baskets filled with useful horsey stuff
  • Unique custom made items such as groom boxes, jumps, mounting blocks...
  • Anything clothing for horse, hound, or human.
  • Professional Services such as photography, massage, braiding....
  • Experiences including weekend getaways, tee times, unique dinners, riding clinics,  and tickets to sporting or theater events.

We kindly ask that all donations be auction ready. Please include the procurement form with each donation.
