72ND ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET

Location: Bellevue Hyatt, Evergreen Ballroom

Doors Open: 4.30pm for cocktails & hors d'oeuvres

Washington State Hunter Jumper Association is delighted to invite you to join us at the 72nd Annual Awards Banquet to celebrate the accomplishments of our members and horses. The Banquet will be held at the Bellevue Hyatt, Evergreen Ballroom on Saturday, January 11, 2025.

Awards in both the WSHJA State and National Points Programs,

as well as select Zone 9 Horse of the Year awards, are presented, as well Special Awards and Scholarships.

In addition to the awards and dinner, new this year we will be serving hors d'oeuvres during the cocktail hour, and there will be a dance party, and more great surprises!

SPECIAL AWARDS

Do you know a deserving rider, parent or incredible horse that made this show season extra special? If so, please nominate them for top honors with one of our Special Awards.  These awards are nominated by the Washington equestrian community and voted for by the current WSHJA Executive Board.

The following categories are open to nominate people and horses that represent the WSHJA spirit!

  • Horse of the Year Award - An award to honor WSHJA horses past or present, that represent the true essence of the Hunter/Jumper sport. Nominations are open to the general membership and the Board will vote. The criteria for a nomination are as follows; the horse can be either living or deceased, and must have been registered with WSHJA for at least one year.

  • Lifetime Achievement Award - An award to honor an individual who has spent their lifetime within the Equestrian world. Their legacy and contributions to this sport are immeasurable. Nominations are open to the general membership and the Board will vote. Nominees do not need to be a member of WSHJA.

  • Parent of the Year Award - An award to honor parents or guardians of WSHJA riders who go above and beyond to enable the education of riders in the Hunter/Jumper sport. Nominations are open to the general membership and the Board will vote. The criteria for nominations are as follows: the parent/guardian must be a parent/guardian of a registered WSHJA member.

  • The Amateur Sportsmanship Award - An award to honor a current WSHJA Amateur member who has demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship among one’s peers. They lead by example, are always willing to give a helping hand and a smile, and help keep this intense sport fun and   fulfilling for all that enter the ring. Nominations are open to the general membership and the  Board will vote.

  • The Children's Sportsmanship Award - This award is presented to a Child member of WSHJA who has demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship, perseverance in the face of obstacles, and an unwavering love of the horse. This award is nominated by WSHJA Trainers.

  • The Junior Sportsmanship Award - An award to honor a current WSHJA Junior member who has volunteered, encouraged and led by example, while demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship. The recipient of this award helps make this competitive sport a rewarding experience for all. Nominations are open to the general membership and the Board will vote.
